"Blueberry Blue" ~ A Cowl for You
I've hand knit this wonderfully soft and warm, light-weight cowl from a beautiful, 100% Merino Superwash yarn that was hand-dyed in Peru. I enjoyed knitting this cowl so much! I felt a bit as if I was watching a mini-fireworks display. One color seemed to burst from the previous color, changing all the time in tone and length. Their location is random, making it impossible to know just what the final scarf will look like- until I reach the end. Watching the ball of yarn unravel and take it's place on my needles was really exciting . It was like watching a mystery gradually unfolding to reveal the hidden outcome-
For anyone who loves wearing scarves to ward off the cold, but doesn't like to worry about winding a scarf several times around the neck- and constantly deals have to be tossing it back over the shoulder because it wants to unwind, wearing a cowl is the perfect solution!
This cowl is basically 1 large loop measuring approximately 24 1/2” long (when folded in half)- opening to approx. 49” when opened into 1 large loop. It's height is approximately 5” . This allows plenty of room for the cowl to be slipped on, twisted once & slipped over the head again, resulting in two layers wrapped around the neck. There are no ties or anything hanging loose-Your neck is simply wrapped in the softness, warmth and beautiful colors of the merino wool fibers.
Knit on a large circular needle, the cowl is one piece, hence; no seams. The yarn is fine, lightweight, and very strong- The stitches created are small and close together, making it more effective at keeping out the cold. Each hank of yarn is hand dyed in Peru. No two hanks of yarn are identical, making this cowl unique and one of a kind.
According to the yarn instructions, it can be machine washed in cool water- (I would put it in a lingerie bag for protection & wash it on a Gentle setting) - Then lay out flat to dry
* It is difficult to show the exact colors of. the cowl, however, except for the last photo displayed, these are pretty close to the exact color. Generally, the background color is a dark, “Blueberry Blue” (in my interpretation) *
~ I Loved knitting this cowl and each stitch is filled with good vibes and hope for a pandemic-free future. I hope you will feel the joy and good vibes that went into creating it when you wear this cowl~~
