Henriot Quimper plate, 1920s Quimper plate, Demi-Fantassie, Bretonne with flower basket, French deals faience, Ceramics, Pottery, Brittany
History: Mark is Henriot Quimper France, with the number that symbolizes the artist's name. It is from the 20s-30s.
Size: 9 1/2 inches diameter
This beautiful older plate has the heft, color and design that we love. The Bretonne's bonnet ('coif') is the same as that of the ladies on the other two plates I have listed in this decor. ( I have four listed; three ladies and one gentleman). So they all represent the same village. The design or 'decor' of these plates is Demi-Fantassie. They have a beautiful scalloped edge and blue border, with a larger floral border in which you can feel the raised reds and blues as is typical of plates this age. Our lovely Bretonne is carrying a basket of blue flowers. Condition of this deals is quite nice, but you will see if you zoom the photos that there are some color scrapes on the red flowers, and there is a tiny chip on the edge. However, this is a wonderful piece, and these do not affect value or desirability. As always, we work hard to determine age and condition and to represent them accurately. Thank you for visiting my shop and I hope you will look at my other listings.
