Unique, handmade, strongly textured and colored hydrocal tondos.
These abstract works include mixed media and are influenced
by nature's light and color. I have been painting on hydrocal panels for
many years. The circle motif evolved out of my process of mixing my
hydrocal in buckets before pouring into a prepared panel. With this work
I leave the hydrocal to set up in the bucket and simply drop it out. I often
use acrylic paint dropped into the hydrocal before drying to create unpredictable
surfaces. The remaining materials include oil paint, dry pigments and graphite.
The tools I use include brushes, sandpaper and razor blades. deals
