Product code: Sweet Very Fine Antique Vintage deals Handmade Quilt
Pretty antique quilt, most likely deals from the 1920s or 30's. It's made from old feedsacks. It's perfectly faded and worn for that soft, “cuddle up on the porch” feeling. The fabrics are delightful and so pretty. The quilting is very fine with tiny hand quilting, the mark of an expert quilter. It is both hand quilted and hand pieced and the workmanship is impressive. The pieces line up perfectly. It has faded over the last 100 years and shows fraying on the edges, a few blown out fabrics and a couple of light stains. The worst wear is along the top edge. I only see one blown out diamond that isn't on the edge so it could gain more life if it were cut down and a new binding applied. This quilt is “as found.” I have not laundered it and I have not attempted to remove the stains. I suspect they will come out with a soaking in oxyclean. Back is white, has a tiny pinhole, a light stain & a couple of darker marks which should wash out. Mercari only allows 12 photos -I'm out of room to post pics.
