Deals 3 Books for the Holidays

Here are three holiday books for Thanksgiving and Christmas, a way of savoring and passing on the traditional poems and songs of the season.

Each is approximately 4 ½ x 5 ½ size, slightly larger than a standard postcard. I deals print these books on 70 lb. linen paper, so you can feel the heft of the pages and see the weave of the paper. My illustrations are drawn from my personal collection of vintage seasonal images and decorative capitals, the “show ponies” of the alphabet. I hand fold the paper, cut it to size, and hand sew the binding with binders' linen thread.

I cover front and back illustrations with transparent Japanese paper, yes, to protect the pages, but also because when I was young I was fascinated by the gauzy papers used to cover illustrations. What delight to see the fuzzy images beneath and then turn the page for the full effect? My covers use decorated paper appropriate to each title. These charming books are meant to be taken out and read every holiday season and also to be kept as heirlooms to be savored every year.
