The 'Lucky Tea' Kakemono is a calligraphy scroll dedicated to illustrating a famous Haiku by Issa:
Going outside,
Plum blossoms dive in...
My lucky tea
This version features organic blooms and petals, focusing on colour and transparency.
Kakemonos - usually placed in a niche as one enters the house (tokonoma) - are meant to encourage one towards reflection on the current season and introspection as well - perhaps before savouring a cup of tea?
The scroll is handpainted and handwritten with ink and entirely handmade with high quality papers and card. You can find my signature - deals the kanji for [nami] or 'wave'
There are 2 options for the frame:
1) natural wood round pine dowels attached to the black paper with brown silk string.
2) a black magnetic frame
The kakemonos are shipped rollled, in a card tube, come gift wrapped and can have a personalised message card.
Please keep in mind any orders going to the EU can incur additional fees after Brexit.
