Smoky Quartz, often mistakenly called Smoky Topaz, can be light to medium gray or brownish gray (taupe) or an almost opaque darker brown, as in these faceted round beads. To add some lively contrast to the dark quartz, I chose sterling silver lacy bead caps and some simpler beads and spacers (I did sneak in a few small Swarovski Smoky Topaz bicone crystals so the silver wouldn't completely take over!). The surprise element of this bracelet is a beautiful and rare vintage Madeira Topaz crystal in a square sterling box clasp setting--gorgeous!
