Vintage Vaudeville Photo The Rexos Roller Skating Act, Roller Skating deals Photography for Wall Decor, Australian Vaudeville Performers
The Rexos were a popular vaudeville rolling skating act on the Australian and American theater scene between 1909 and 1916. Starring Charles Rexo, a juggler, equilibrist, trick skater, and magician who rose to vaudeville fame with the United States Specialty Company as The Demon Skater, and his sister, the act was known as The Renowned Rexos.
This antique circa 1910 deals publicity photograph shows the Rexo in winter theatrical skating costumes edged in white fur. The vintage cabinet card photo was taken at a photography studio in Grand Rapids, Michigan. A similar photograph of the brother and sister skating duo is in the collection of the Kalamazoo, Michigan public library.
A genuine antique photograph mounted on a card, the photo is in good condition. The card border has a hole in it at the top and the bottom where it was once pinned to a board. There is also some old tape on the back. A previous owner wrote "The Rexos" on the back of the photo in pencil.
