You can use this deals pack for a day or 2 long climbing adventure. There is enough room for your shoes, harness, water, food, extra jackets, helmet, and if you take the time to pack carefully, you can fit a lot of stuff in. I don't think it is large enough to also fit trad gear. The small pockets on the waist belt are really convenient, my phone and sunglasses are easily accessible during those long approaches. This pack also has these awesome making it really easy to attach gear to the outside of the pack quickly.
